Future Lga 775 Build

Question

Ok so I am working on a build that is quite a few generations back, and my goal is to tweak it to play modern games!

I am looking at the qx7600 processor, it is a core 2 extreme that is clocked at 2.66ghz and is a quad core. The ultimate goal is to OC it to 3.2ghz with an h80 liquid cooling closed loop system.

I have a motherboard that can support the extreme processors on the LGA 775, but I am looking at a few different directions on how to do this, I am ultimately looking to which will be best performance for this build. yet still a budget build.

Having a hard time deciding on ram, whether 1066mhz ram is worth the steep price vs the 800mhz ram that can be signifigantly cheaper, yet not be as fast. should discuss this.

Then finally with a 6950 asus 1gb gddr5 gpu a 650w powersupply should do work?

also wester digital black vs ssd for this build.

that's the problem with old ram as it is, ddr2 is way overpriced now...and crap lol

However, to get the max potential out of this build the 1066 is what i need, but will cost 120$

Forget that.

scrapping this build, the technology is too old, for not enough power.

flipped the mobo though, IRL MERCH! bought it for about 55 bucks and sold for 100!

Exactly what I told you a few weeks ago about my LGA 775 build lol.
